Projets de recherche et/ou de recherche-création en cours

  • Prévisibilité des feux de forêts au Canada

    Ce projet est réalisé en collaboration et avec le support financier de Ressources naturelles Canada (Service canadien des forêts - SCF) afin d'améliorer la capacité du SCF de mieux anticiper les risques de feux de forêts au Canada. Les outils de modélisation climatique développés au centre ESCER sont utilisés à cette fin.

  • Réseau Inondations InterSectoriel du Québec (RIISQ)

    Le Réseau inondations intersectoriel du Québec (RIISQ) regroupe 18 universités et plus de 180 chercheurs à travers le Québec. Il a pour mission de mieux protéger la population et les infrastructures québécoises des effets néfastes des inondations qui sont en voie de s'aggraver en raison des changements climatiques. Il favorise les maillages entre la société civile et les universités par des actions conjuguées des acteurs et actrices des milieux de la recherche et de la pratique impliqués dans la gestion des inondations, en s'appuyant non seulement sur les connaissances existantes mais aussi sur les nouvelles connaissances en sciences et technologie, en sciences sociales et de la santé. Tout ceci dans le but ultime de proposer et de mettre en pratique des solutions concrètes et durables.

  • L'impact régional de la variabilité et des changements climatiques sur les maladies zoonotiques et vectorielles au Canada

    Ce projet de collaboration avec l'Agence de la santé publique du Canada a pour objectif général de mieux comprendre le rôle du changement climatique à l'échelle régionale sur la modification de la répartition géographique et saisonnière des vecteurs existants et des maladies à transmission vectorielle. Pour contrer les effets des changements climatiques sur les maladies à transmission vectorielle et les zoonoses transmissibles directement, deux objectifs spécifiques sont à viser : i) L'évaluation des risques (soit l'évaluation des impacts des changements climatiques pour identifier la population qui sera à risque); ii) La conception d'outils de santé publique (surveillance, prévision, prévention, contrôle, prise de décision) pour mieux protéger la population à risque. Plusieurs travaux en cours incluent les maladies reliés aux tiques ou aux moustiques porteurs de maladies vectorielles ou de zoonoses ayant un impact substantiel sur la santé humaine.
