Cheminement académique
Claire Bénard received her Ph.D. from McGill University (2003), supported by scholarships from NSERC and FCAR. She obtained postdoctoral fellowships from NSERC and CIHR for her training at Columbia University at New York, USA (2004-2009). She opened her lab at the Department of Neurobiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, USA, in 2009, where she was an Assistant Professor, then promoted to Associate Professor in 2016. She joined the Department of Biological Sciences at the Université du Québec à Montréal, Canada, in September 2016, as FRQS Research Scholar Jr2 and Associate Professor. Her lab at UMass was funded by the NIH, the Ellison Biomedical Foundation, the American Federation for Aging Research, among other funding sources. At UQAM, her lab is funded by CIHR, NSERC, FRQS, CFI, as well as by NIH and NSF. Claire Bénard is a FRQS Senior Research Scholar.
